Resolve Construction – FAQs

Building your dream home is an exciting journey, and also a daunting one when you're not sure of the process.


When making one of the most significant investments of your life, it's crucial to find the right builder to work with, and fully understand the process and what's included.


The following questions and answers will show you why Resolve Construction is the best choice to build your new custom home.


What is your building process?

With our comprehensive building process, you’re

guaranteed a perfect result every time. Our building process is:

  1. Enquiry – We talk to you about your wants and needs and explain the process to get started


  1. Preliminary Engagement – Once you’re happy to proceed, we sign you up to the Preliminary Engagement process


  1. Design – From there, we proceed to the design stage and work closely with you on your home design. The process can take 4-6 weeks, depending on how many changes are made.


  1. Quote – Once the design is complete, we develop a comprehensive quote for the project (this process can take up to 3 weeks)


  1. Deposit – If you are satisfied with the quote, we draw up contracts, and you commit with a deposit. If there is no finance involved, we can lodge your Plans to the council immediately and start the construction process

Will you explain total costs and project timelines up front?

Yes. Unlike other builders, we will provide written guarantees of total prices and timelines, the building materials we use, our process to fix errors and testimonials from previous clients.


Since building a new home is such a significant financial investment, we understand how important it is to keep costs down. That’s why, unlike spec builders, we are entirely open about costs.


The price we quote is what you’ll pay with no surprises.


How long have you been in business, and how many custom homes have you built?

We have been building houses since 2014 with over 20 prestige customised homes under our tool belt. Our Director, Billy Thomas has been in the industry for over 15 years, working across various residential and commercial projects. He established Resolve construction in 2014 and has since built over 20 customized homes


How do you compare to other custom home builders?

As a boutique firm, we only take on specific projects based on our capabilities. Our focus is to provide the highest level of service, and the biggest compliment is when our clients refer us to their friends and family (which happens regularly!).


Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Resolve Construction and all of our Designers, trades and suppliers are fully licenced and insured QBCC 1285455


What type of warranty do you offer?

If anything goes wrong with your new home, Your home is covered by the compulsory QBCC statutory,6 and half year warranty

Can you provide references from prior customers?

Do your homes have energy-saving features?

As environmentally-conscious home builders, we are proud to offer energy saving lighting and appliances as standard.


What standard features do your homes include?

What most home builders call optional extras, we include as standard. We also have a wide variety of exciting upgrades for you to choose from.


How and when can I make upgrades or changes, before and during construction?

As flexible builders, we allow you to select upgrades or make changes at any stage during the construction process.


Do you only build from home plans you supply, or can I provide my own?

As custom home builders, we will bring your plans to life. Or, if you’re not clear on what you want, we can work with our building designers to create the perfect home.


Who will oversee the construction of my home?

Our Director and Head Builder, Bill Thomas will oversee the construction of your custom home from start to finish.

When and how is the final price for my home determined?

To avoid surprises, the final price for your home is determined at the quote stage. We also provide a comprehensive break down of what each individual feature costs, so there are no unexpected hidden fees.


How often (and when) will I have access to my home throughout the building process?

We believe you are an integral part of the home building process. That’s why we’re pleased to offer you access to your new home throughout every stage of the construction process, as long as it's supervised access for health and safety reasons.


How long will it take to complete my home?

Before we start the building process, we will determine exactly how long it will take to complete your home.


What is your inspection process during construction, at final walk-through, and to address any issues which need to be corrected or finalised?

Your new home will be thoroughly inspected throughout every stage of the building

process. So, if any issues need to be corrected, we will get on top of it before handing

over the keys.
